"The Tall One"

Also on Friday, I took a flightseeing tour to Denali aka Mount McKinley.  At 20230 feet it is the highest peak in North America.  Denali means "the tall one". 

Here I am standing by the airplane (PA31) before the flight.  Small planes aren't really me favorite way to fly.

But all thoughts of getting sick vanished when the mountain came into view!  We're about 20 miles away from it here.

We climbed up above the clouds to get a better view.

When we passed through 12500 feet we had to use the oxygen masks.  We climbed up to about 21000 feet.

We got as close as 3/4 of a mile to the mountain.  I could see everything.  Including the people climbing the mountain!

Besides Denali, we saw many other beautiful mountain peaks.

This trip was well worth the money and the sick feeling I had afterwards!  The pilot said that only 10% of people get weather this good for the flight!
